During our literacy study this week, we will be comparing different versions of the Cinderella story, and we will be discussing how the culture of a particular country affects the elements of the story. In Science, we will begin a thorough study of weather. We will be collecting our own data about weather daily, and we will discuss different ways to describe weather. The tool that we will focus on using this week is a thermometer. In Math, we will begin our study of fractions. This abstract concept can be hard for many second-graders. You can help us work on this by paying with your food in the kitchen. Cut sandwiches into halves, fourths, and thirds, and then compare. Group raisins into halves, thirds, and fourths. Have fun with it!
