Welcome back to school, and welcome to 2012 in Villa 8! I hope all of mystudents are coming back to school ready to work hard, as we have a lot to accomplish in the coming months. Parents– this is a great time to encourage goal-setting and to encourage your child to redouble his or her efforts at school.
During our literacy study this week, we will be comparing information within and across texts. We will be reading and comparing texts about different countries to support the work we are doing in our Unit of Inquiry, As the World turns. We will continue learning about climate zones and the climate and features of countries around the world. In Math, we’ll work with creating and analyzing graphs. During our inquiry unit, we’ll begin learning about the different climate zones on our planet.
